The Elder Scrolls TV Show Probably Not Happening Says Todd Howard
"I'll probably say no".
It appears unlikely Bethesda will give the green light to a TV adaptation of its The Elder Scrolls series in the same way it has Fallout, which released yesterday on Amazon Prime. Speaking to IGN, company boss Todd Howard said "nothing is in the works" for the series Skyrim belongs to, and he'd probably say no to the idea anyway. "Everybody asks, like, about Elder Scrolls, and I keep saying no also. And I would approach those — I'll probably say no."
As for how Fallout came to be, Howard explained the project came together naturally rather than feeling forced. It felt like things were "aligning to do a high-quality job" on Fallout so the TV show reached the finish line. "I can't predict the future, but this has been one of the most enjoyable projects I've ever done, and we're just kind of over the moon everybody in the studio is seeing it this way," Howard added.
