SEGA Interested In Adapting Persona Like a Dragon Into Movies
"We're thinking of reviving other classical SEGA IPs too".
SEGA's stable of IP remains ripe for further exploration, which the company is interested in pursuing. Following Sonic the Hedgehog's mammoth success on the big screen, it should be no surprise that the Like a Dragon/Yakuza and Persona series would be next in line for adaptations.
Speaking to CNBC, Chief Operating Officer Shuji Utsumi said that SEGA wants to build out those franchises specifically as the company's other two central IP pillars, and said: "We just revived Sonic in a big way, not only through games but also movies and TV shows, and Sonic is in Roblox, too. And we're working closely now with LEGO. So now Sonic is reviving."
