Promising PS5 Vehicular Survival Pacific Drive Will Get a Physical Release

With major titles like Alan Wake 2 controversially eschewing physical editions in favour of an increasingly digital market, Blu-ray faithfuls may be reassured to know that the intriguing first-person vehicular survival game Pacific Drive will be getting a retail release next year. The game, due out in Spring 2024, will come with all kinds of real-world goodies, including a reversible cover, 24-page printed traveller’s journal, three art cards, and a full-colour sleeve. You’ll also get some in-game items allowing you to customise your virtual Station Wagon.
This game is being billed as a “road-like” – a first-of-its-kind twist on the popular roguelike genre. The blurb explains: “Your car is your only companion as you navigate a surreal and anomaly-filled reimagining of the Pacific Northwest. Structured as a road-like, each excursion into the wilderness brings unique and strange challenges, as you restore and upgrade your car from an abandoned garage that acts as your home base.”
