Not Much Space for Dino Crisis After Monster Hunter Success Creator Says
Mikami surprised that fans want another game.
Dino Crisis creator Shinji Mikami has argued there's not a "whole lot of space" left for the series to occupy following the huge success of the Monster Hunter franchise. Despite the pretty clear differences between the two, Mikami feels that the "awesomeness of dinosaurs and the stuff you can do with" them has been "really nailed down" by Monster Hunter in the recent past, so he's "very surprised" Dino Crisis fans want more.
His comments come from a Eurogamer interview conducted at Gamescom, where he said that even if he decided to do a remake or a new instalment, he doesn't "really feel like there's a whole lot of space for that kind of game right now, just since Monster Hunter has become such a big game".
