No More News on Xbox One/PC Game Scalebound Until 2017 Gamescom
Don't expect to hear anything more about Platinum Games' Xbox One and PC action-RPG Scalebound until 2017. That's according to Xbox executive Phil Spencer.
Someone asked him on Twitter if there would be any news about the game this year. "Sorry, probably no new Scalebound news before 2017," he replied.
This isn't all that surprising. While Sony has its PlayStation Experience event coming up in December, Microsoft doesn't have a similar event to talk about upcoming projects. It makes sense that Microsoft would rather focus on its 2016 titles in the balance of the year.
Scalebound is slated to launch on Xbox One and PC in 2017. It was originally scheduled for launch this year before getting delayed. The game's release date was delayed alongside two other big Microsoft-published games: Halo Wars 2 and Crackdown 3.

Explaining the delays, Xbox marketing boss Aaron Greenberg said the creative process sometimes necessitates delays.
"As you go through that creative process, some times things happen fast, some times they take longer than you expect," he said. "For us making the games great, making sure the stories are great, the graphics are great in these immersive experiences, is a priority."
During Gamescom 2016, we got to see how dragon customization and gameplay worked in Scalebound. You can her our impressions in the video above. Scalebound will also feature co-op play and giant bosses.
