Naughty Dog Wont Be The Last of Us Studio Forever Says Neil Druckmann

Naughty Dog studio head Neil Druckmann has reassured fans it won't be working on The Last of Us forever, sharing in a new interview with the LA Times the developer has "multiple single player projects" in production. He added: "I promise you, we will not be 'The Last of Us' studio forever."
In its forty-year history, Naughty Dog has worked on many franchises, from Crash Bandicoot and Jak & Daxter through to Uncharted. However, since the 2017 release of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy, the team has been working exclusively on The Last of Us games. It launched The Last of Us 2 in 2020, then remade the original The Last of Us and worked on The Last of Us 2 Remastered earlier this year. This focus on re-releases has been a disappointment for some fans, and much of the developer's efforts in recent years would have been spent on the now cancelled The Last of Us Multiplayer project.
