Epic Games May Be Sonys Most Important Partner Right Now
An epic alliance.
We know that Sony has invested heavily into Epic Games over the years, but it’s clear that the company holds its partnership with the Fortnite maker in extremely high regard. During its Corporate Strategy Meeting, the Japanese giant name dropped the Unreal Engine creator multiple times, across a variety of different mediums.
Obviously, we know Unreal Engine 5 is likely to become the de-facto game creation engine for most developers this generation, but Sony Pictures is also leveraging the technology for innovative new movie production setups – some of which allow it to create “virtual stages” upon which actors can deliver their performances.
