Embracer Layoffs Continue as Insurgency Developer New World Interactive Gets Hit

Unlikely to be the last.

Another studio has fallen afoul of Embracer Group's comprehensive restructuring plan, with an unknown number of layoffs being confirmed at New World Interactive, the developer behind the Insurgency series of tactical first-person shooters.

It was initially reported the studio had been closed, but Embracer subsidiary Saber Interactive, which purchased New World in 2020, later confirmed in a statement to Eurogamer that wasn't the case. However, it confirmed an unknown number of layoffs had taken place.
