Elden Rings Shadow of the Erdtree Sounds Like a Mammoth Expansion
10 boss fights, 8 weapon categories.
FromSoftware has described Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree as its "largest expansion to date", and now it's backing that claim up with some hard stats. In a round of interviews, creator Hidetaka Miyazaki states the expansion is larger than the Limgrave play space, and is made up of fields, legacy dungeons, and other dungeons of varying scale.
There'll be 10 new boss fights, eight more weapon categories, and new weapons on top of them. In terms of difficulty, the DLC is compared to the endgame of the base experience, and there'll be an encounter on the same level as Malenia, Blade of Miquella. "So players who look for that sort of challenge in our games will find a challenge on equal footing in the DLC as well," Miyazaki told Eurogamer.
