E3: Skull & Bones Practically Walks the Plank as Game Skips Next Fiscal Year
It's probably dead.
Skull & Bones was announced at Ubisoft's E3 2017 press conference and we have seen absolutely nothing of the game ever since. Will it come out at some point in the future? Probably not, and you won't be seeing it around the launch of the PlayStation 5 either. That's because the French publisher has just confirmed its line-up for the next fiscal year, and Skull & Bones isn't a part of it.
The games you can look forward to from Ubisoft between now and 31st March 2021 are Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Watch Dogs Legion, Rainbow Six: Quarantine, Gods & Monsters, and one more currently unannounced AAA title. That will most likely be a new Far Cry game, according to Jason Schreier. Where does this leave Skull & Bones? Well, probably dead and buried. The game's last update came via a Twitter post in May 2019 where it announced a delay. The account has remained silent since then. Can we say that Skull & Bones has been cancelled? Not officially, but we'd be surprised to see it ever release at this point.
