E3: Metroid Dread Preorders Are Live For Nintendo Switch
Nintendo did in fact show off the next Metroid game during its E3 2021 Direct, but it likely wasn't what fans expected. Metroid Dread, a new side-scrolling entry in the series, releases on Nintendo Switch on October 8. Dread should hopefully tide fans over until the eventual release of Metroid Prime 4. Metroid Dread is available to preorder now, and there's even a cool special edition and two new Amiibo figures that should be available to order soon.
Metroid Dread is being developed by MercuryStream, the studio behind Metroid: Samus Returns for Nintendo 3DS. Metroid Dread will be the first game in the series for Nintendo Switch, but it was actually originally developed for Nintendo DS as a sequel to the wonderful Game Boy Advance game Metroid Fusion.
