The new movie's plot is classic Lupin: In '60s France, the selfish, sleazy detective has to evade police while trying to retrieve the mysterious Bresson Diary--a booby-trapped book--and an amulet that is rumored to contain a key, which, according to legends is either a literal one to a fortune or a metaphorical one to understanding the diary. In addition to the police, Lupin must also evade Nazi loyalists who want the artifacts for themselves, competing treasure hunters, and the cops who want to return the items to their rightful owners.

A release date has not yet been given for the English dub version of Lupin III: The First. It is "coming soon" and expected to be out before the end of the year.
