E3: Game of Thrones Author Really Is Teaming Up with Dark Souls Developer, It Seems
Apparently titled Great Rune.
No way, is this seemingly ridiculous rumour of George R.R. Martin working on a From Software title as lead writer going to be true? The man himself penned a blog post about the culmination of the Game of Thrones TV show, and in it he confirms that he has consulted on a Japanese game.
Buried towards the end of the text, he says: "I’ve consulted on a video game out of Japan." So there we have it, literal confirmation! That's not all though, as Gematsu sources indicate that the game is indeed developed by From Software and headed by Hidetaka Miyazaki. Known internally as Great Rune if what GamesRadar reports is true, it has been in development for three years and will feature an open world with horse riding. It's based on Norse mythology, and will be officially announced at Microsoft's E3 2019 press conference, published by Bandai Namco.
