E3: E3 2023 in Doubt as More Publishers Pull Out
SEGA and Tencent not attending.
A new IGN report reveals SEGA and Tencent have joined Ubisoft in pulling out of E3 2023, casting further doubt over whether the event in June will go ahead. Having spoken to numerous PR outlets, the website says there's significant confusion surrounding the expo, with many unsure of who will be there and a lack of communication from organisers the ESA and Reedpop not helping things.
"Several described the situation as one where everyone was waiting for someone else to be the first to jump, but no one was willing to take the leap – and time was running out," the IGN report states. One source then commented: "There’s no possible way this show can happen." Ubisoft had planned to attend E3 2023, but then pulled a 180 yesterday and has chosen instead to host a Ubisoft Forward livestream and invite press elsewhere.
