Cities Skylines 2 PS5 Delayed Further to Meet Stability Performance Aims

There are "unresolved issues" remaining.

Paradox Interactive has made the decision to push the console versions of Cities: Skylines 2 even further back — likely into 2025 — in order to meet the stability and performance targets it has set for itself. Detailed in a post on the studio's forums, it's revealed the developer was aiming for an October 2024 release window, but it still has "unresolved issues impacting the game in ways that harm the player experience".

The city builder originally debuted on PC in late 2023, but the launch was marred by considerable performance flaws on the platform. It's said to be in a better place now, letting Paradox Interactive turn some of its attention to the previously announced PS5 version. The company says it will look to issue a new release window next month following a "thorough review". It continues: "This evaluation will determine whether we can begin the submission process and provide a solid release date, or if further issues need to be addressed."
