Baldurs Gate 3 Director Already Hard at Work on Larian Studios Next Game
But don't expect specifics anytime soon.
It's hard to find a more exciting success story from 2023 than that of Larian Studios, the plucky Belgian developer behind the monumental Baldur's Gate 3. Extremely deep and full of meaningful, unique content, it was the work of hundreds of passionate minds across years, setting an imposing precedent for the genre and scooping up Game of the Year at The Game Awards. But rather than rest on his laurels, studio founder, CEO, and game director Swen Vincke thinks he's locked down the first act of what comes next.
On Twitter, Vincke mused that he had spent the last four months writing and rewriting the opening of the studio's next project. The practical dresser was apparently inspired, revealing that he's "finally figured out what act 1 on this thing I've been working on needs to be." The confidence is apparent, which is quite exciting in itself: "Quote me when it's revealed to see how much of today's draft survives. I suspect a lot."
